The English Electric Class 20 was the first main line diesel loco to be introduced to Malaya, in 1957. A total of 26 of these 1500HP C-C locomotives were delivered, and immediately took over the principal express services, and could also be seen on freight. The class is now out of service, but one example has been preserved.
